Karen,

Jason and I wanted to share an accomplishment with you. Today at
lunchtime, Jason pulled the car up to the garage to do his
visualization. A couple of minutes later, he called me and asked if
I could slip away for a few minutes.  I go out to get in the car, and
Jason isn't sitting in the passenger seat, he is sitting in the driver's
seat. He didn't want to go for a ride, he wanted to go for a DRIVE.
So, today was a really great day for Jason, and we wanted to share
his happiness with you.  ~  Lori

My mission as a mentor is to alleviate mental health disorders one person at a time.

What has worked for you and what hasn’t?  Have you been less than satisfied with results
from the methods you’re currently practicing to manage your anxiety or panic disorder?  Do
you believe there’s something else out there that could bring you ever closer to being anxiety
free?

In June 2002 when I hit bottom, I was fortunate to work with three incredible female
practitioners who believed I could achieve mental wellness.  They showed me that tackling my
panic disorder meant pulling out all the stops, being open to all options and having the
courage to do whatever it would take to conquer my mental health disorder and free myself
from the daily anxiety and panic attacks, including the fear that came with them.

During my journey of recovery, I’ve discovered, through my own experience, that medication
alone did not alleviate all my symptoms.  It took a combination approach to get ever closer to
the ultimate goal of being free from panic attacks and anxiety.

I believe The Key to Recovery takes a multi-level approach.  There is no magic bullet but with
the right combination of therapies and techniques, recovery from anxiety is achievable.

Recovering from anxiety and panic disorder is a daily practice.  It’s about recognizing what
will help bring you closer to being anxiety-free, talking openly about your mental health with
doctors and therapists, refusing to take no for an answer and ultimately taking charge of your
recovery and overall mental wellness.

Anxiety is a fear-based disorder, which can stem from past traumas, real or imagined.  The
subconscious brain can’t tell the difference.  A similar or seemingly unrelated present day
event can push the buttons created in your past which magnifies your current anxiety level.

As a mentor, my goal is to offer hope, support and guidance so you can achieve
recovery…once we find the right set of practitioners, techniques and therapists that work
best for you. Your goal is to work with people who believe in your recovery as much as my
practitioners believed in mine.  Working together, our goal is to create your personal anxiety
recovery road map.

Together we’ll explore the many therapies, techniques and treatments that can allow you to
have more success achieving recovery.  I believe there are a vast amount of options
available that may not be discussed with you by some doctors and therapists.  Together we’ll
discuss how to screen or interview prospective therapists, doctor and practitioners before
you have a face-to-face appointment.  I believe that if a practitioner is comfortable with his or
her skills, they should be comfortable offering a brief, complimentary phone consultation to
see if you are a match.

If you are having a psychiatric emergency, please call 911 or go to your
nearest emergency room or urgent care facility.

This web site is not intended to replace professional medical or mental health
treatment.  It is recommended as a supplement to professional treatment.  I
recommend that ALL of those experiencing Panic or Anxiety Disorder seek
professional help as soon as possible. The sooner one seeks help, the more
likely they are to start seeing results.  There are excellent treatments available
and many provide lasting results.

This web site is a Panic and Anxiety support service by a non-medical/mental
health professional who personally experienced Panic Disorder.  Mentoring
can be useful in addition to other techniques and treatments you are
currently practicing.
